We’re now looking for a Head of Engineering to take our engineering team to the next stage of growth, from a high-performing MVP environment to a scalable SaaS organisation ready for Product-Market Fit and beyond.
Your Role #
As Head of Engineering, you will be the technical and organisational backbone of Muto’s product development. You will shape our engineering culture, processes, and architecture to support scale, stability, and innovation.
You will lead and grow an ambitious engineering team, ensuring that our product is built with reliability, velocity, and long-term maintainability in mind. You’ll work closely with Product to translate strategic priorities into a clear delivery roadmap, and with our external development partner to ensure high-quality execution and ownership.
Where You’ll Have Impact #
- Leadership & Vision: Define and own Muto’s engineering strategy and technical roadmap in line with business priorities and product goals.
- Team & Culture: Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineers (internal and external), fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Ownership: Ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and performance across the platform, including integrations, data pipelines, and mobility automation features.
- Delivery Excellence: Establish predictable, efficient, and transparent delivery processes that balance speed with quality.
- Reliability & Operations: Implement best practices in observability, CI/CD, testing, and incident management to guarantee uptime and platform resilience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management to translate customer and business needs into clear technical deliverables.
- AI & Automation: Drive opportunities to leverage AI and automation in both the platform and the development workflow.
- Vendor Management: Oversee and challenge external development teams to ensure timely, high-quality, and maintainable delivery.
What You Bring #
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role within a SaaS company.
- Proven experience leading engineering in growth or scale-up environments, ideally within B2B or mobility/operations-related software.
- Solid understanding of modern software architecture (microservices, API design, cloud-native, data pipelines).
- Hands-on experience with Phyton, AWS, Django,... or comparable frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD, testing frameworks, monitoring/observability, and SLA management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, you can translate technical complexity into clear priorities.
- Pragmatic leadership: you balance long-term technical vision with short-term delivery realities.
- Experience working with or managing external development partners is a plus.
